How To: Stretch Your Upper Traps

Ever feel tight and restricted in your neck? A feeling of tension and achenes? This is a great stretch for you! We often hold our tension in our shoulders, the next time you feel you are stressed or over worked check out how much you are lifting your shoulders up. The upper muscle fibres of the trapezius help elevate the shoulders. Yes great for every day tasks like reaching over head but not so great when the start to become symptomatic because of life.


The trapezius is a large muscle that almost looks like a hang glider, powerful and multi functional and a great peace of engineering who ever did that! I like to think evolution personally. When the trapezius gets tight it causes restriction and often ends up in either pain or stiffness or more commonalty both. Keeping it healthy can avoid pain, stiffness and general annoyance.
